The Fountain of Youth

If only there was a fountain of youth that you could drink from, especially when life has you feeling even older than you really are. While you can’t literally return to your youth, there are some things you can do that will make you feel young again.

Get your shut-eye

Your body needs at least eight hours of sleep every night to restore it. Unfortunately, most people are not getting the proper amount of sleep at night.

“The only time your body can truly restore itself is when you’re asleep.

Don’t forget your strength training

“When done properly, weight-training makes micro tears in the muscles, which leads your body to generate thicker, stronger muscle fibre.

Greene suggests using dumbbells while targeting your core and lower body with lunges, calf-raises, and squats three times a week.

Accentuate the positives

“Cultivating a greater sense of optimism will provide you with more positive energy to motivate you to do youthful things. The goal is not to deny the less-than-pleasant stuff that is happening, but rather to focus on what’s going well.

Give the gift of yourself

Research has shown that volunteering your time for a worthy cause can give you mental and physical benefits. In a study by researchers at Johns Hopkins University, it was found that older adults over the age of 55 who volunteered weekly to help children in a classroom had an increased activity level for at least three years after.

Anything that increases a level of activity for a long period of time is a huge plus, but the real news here is that this particular kind of volunteer work benefits children and the educational system as well as the volunteers, demonstrating the potential benefits for what many are calling an intergenerational social contract.”

Engage your social side

“Staying active and engaged is very important in terms of cognitive and emotional health. Maintaining a connection to others in social settings is important to mental, emotional, and physical health. Consider joining a club, church group, or hobby organization in order to connect with others who share your interests.

Take on a new hobby

Once you hit retirement age, or your children move away to college, you may wonder how to fill your time. The sense of an empty nest can be daunting and lonely. Instead, find fulfilling ways to spend your time by trying out a new hobby. Learning to play a musical instrument, writing that book you always dreamed of, or expressing your artistic side are all ways to find enthusiasm and joy in life.

Connect with nature

Make the time to enjoy outdoor activities every day. The sunlight helps you produce vitamin D and serotonin, which can boost your immune system and your mood. The simple beauty of nature also provides a sense of calm and peacefulness.

Take a cue from those who know

If you want to feel young, then spend time with people who are. Grandchildren can be a great source of joy, wonder, and vitality. Few things in life can make you feel youthful and free quite like the simple act of playing. Make-believe, dress-up, building blocks, or even colouring are like a vacation from the stresses of the real world.

Go and see the sights

Whether you dream of traveling to exotic locales, or just taking in local tourist sites that you’ve never had the time to see before, pack your bags and hit the road. Each new sight is a discovery, and the act of discovering is revitalizing all by itself. Not to mention you can make wonderful memories along the way. Choose a destination, or just head off blindly and see where the road takes you.

SIMPLE TIPS ON HOW TO STAY LOOKING AND FEELING YOUNG

Stress Less

Getting older without being doomed to wrinkle-dom and jiggly thighs does not require a high-priced trainer beauty treatments will still carry many benefits. We know the secrets for winding back time naturally. This advice will help you stay young and have you looking and feeling everyday fabulous, by doing everyday smart things: exercise, eat healthy, de-stress — not so hard, right? Try it today.

  1. Give yourself a break

Recent studies show that stress causes physical changes in the body that can accelerate aging. Surges of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol cause blood pressure to rise and the heart to beat faster. These days, when our stressors seem unrelenting (a steady stream of job pressures, traffic jams, money problems), chronic doses of adrenaline and cortisol take a heavy toll on our physical and emotional health. “Sixty to 90 percent of all doctors’ visits each year are related to anxiety, depression, obsessive anger and hostility, insomnia, high blood pressure, heart attacks — all problems caused by stress.

The most effective way to halt this destructive chain of events is to meditate, Try it! Once or twice daily, for 10 to 20 minutes (yes, you do have the time — you just have to make it), sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, relax your muscles, roll your head, neck, and shoulders, and breathe deeply. On each exhale, repeat your mantra. Do yoga, or something active and repetitive, like running, instead. Focus on your breathing and how your feet land with each stride.

  1. Consume more fat

The healthy kind, that is. Omega-3 fatty acids (found in salmon, walnuts, and seeds) help stabilize your mood, maintain bone strength, and help prevent visible signs of aging by reducing inflammation in the joints Omega-3s also boost the ability of the body’s enzymes to pull fat out of storage, from your hips and use it as energyOmega-3s keep you healthy and your skin radiant.”

  1. Get off the couch

Not only does regular exercise help you lose weight, tone muscles, build healthier bones, and boost mood, it can also help you think clearly. Try it! Make time for three 20-minute workouts a week, run, bike, swim, dance do whatever you enjoy most.

  1. Feel the love

Anyone who’s ever fallen head over heels or discovered an activity that makes them eager to jump out of bed in the morning knows that passion is a powerful drug. The ability to embrace life boosts self-esteem, fuels the immune system, and improves cardiovascular health. Passion in bed can be particularly beneficial: “Loving touches release hormones, including oxytocin, that reduce stress and anxiety. Try it! Banish boredom and isolation at all costs. Rekindle the flames with your partner. Or discover a new love in the form of a mental or physical pursuit.

  1. Do yoga

More energy, better posture, greater flexibility, improved mood, and less stress are just some of the rewards of this mind-body workout. Through conscious yoga breathing, you become aware of the connection between mind and body.” That translates into major anti-aging advantages. Yogic breathing has been shown to oxygenate the cells, ridding them of toxins, helping prevent illness, and making skin radiant. Unlike other exercises, yoga poses are designed to work the inside of your body as well as the outside, which helps rejuvenate the digestive system, the reproductive system, even the immune system.

  1. Do mental aerobics

A study published in last year shows that brain exercises can prevent cognitive decline, and the benefits can last for as many as five years. Strengthen your mind every day by doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or Brain Games,

Yes we can give you that perfect youthful facial look but its up to you to take care of your body and mind.

LOOK AFTER YOUR HAIR AND IT WILL LOOK AFTER YOU

1. You Wash Your Hair Every Day
As a general rule, hair should be washed as often as needed. For most people that’s every two to three days. Any more, and you risk stripping your hair of its natural, protective oils that keep it shiny and healthy. This is especially true for people who colour their hair, as over-washing can dull the vibrancy of their colour.

Of course, there are other factors involved. If you work out and sweat a lot, you may not be able to wait three days. In that case, try rinsing with water, scrubbing the scalp, and conditioning your ends only. If you’re dealing with a super oily scalp, look into a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. It sounds counterintuitive, but your body may be producing more oil due to dryness—attempting to naturally fix the problem. Second, invest in some dry shampoo to extend the time between washes.

2. You Use Too Much Conditioner

To avoid greasy strands, apply conditioner on the ends of the hair, where it truly needs hydration, not the scalp. Start with an amount about the size of a euro and try to disperse it evenly throughout the hair

3. The Wrong Shampoo

Sulphates, the cleansing agents in shampoos, have become the gluten of the hair world.

While they don’t pose any serious health hazards, some people find these chemicals dry out hair, skin, and scalp, or strip away colour, If you’re seeing tangling, frizziness, and split ends, try a sulphate free shampoo, which can clean your hair gently. Just keep in mind it won’t get as sudsy as a regular shampoo.

4. You Never Use a Deep Conditioner

It may sound like an unnecessary step, but the pros we spoke with all recommend using a deep conditioner—especially if your hair is dry, damaged, or split from colouring or heat styling, Use a treatment, at least once per week, get in the habit of pampering your hair, and you’ll notice it behaves and looks better.”

If you colour your hair, use a deep conditioner the week leading up to and after any chemical process it’ll help prepare your hair for battle, seal the hair cuticle, and prevent breakage.”

5. Been Using the Same Shampoo and Conditioner Since School
Your hair gets used to shampoo and conditioner—and then the products start to leave behind a residue. If you’re more non-committal, keep a few different formulas in the shower to use depending on how your hair feels

After the Shower
6. You Brush Your Hair When It’s Wet
Wet hair is much weaker than dry hair, so treat it carefully. One of the worst things you can do is tug a brush through it, forcing tangles apart. Instead, try brushing your hair before hopping in the shower to work out knots and air out the roots.

During your shower, consider using a wide-toothed comb to work the conditioner through your strands. After, use a comb to work out tangles from the bottom, working your way up to the roots for the least damage Bottom line: Use a brush only on dry hair and a wide-toothed comb on wet hair.
7. You Roughly Towel Dry
This isn’t the worst you can do, but it’s definitely not the best. After showering, don’t vigorously rub your hair with a towel—gently blot instead blotting will not rough up the cuticle and cause frizz. If you  want to go the extra mile? Use a paper towel to dry your hair, this is the most gentle, if not the most practical, method possible.

8. You Use Too-Hot Tools
Whether your hair is fine and thin or coarse and thick will determine which heat setting will get the job doneSo it’s fortunate that most hot tools, like straighteners and curling irons, come with adjustable temperature settings.

Don’t crank it to the hottest setting right off the bat start at 300 degrees. If you’re getting the desired results, stay there. If not, gradually turn up the heat until you do. Typically coarse hair requires higher temps than fine hair. And no matter what, always use a heat protector As for those wet-to-dry hot tools intended for use on damp hair? They’re a no-go never use hot tools on wet hair it can burn the hair.”
9. You Skip Heat Protectant
It’s like asking if you need an oven mitt to pull something out of the oven. Spraying a heat protector on your hair proactively protects hair from heat damage, plus it seals in shine, calms frizz, and keeps hair from becoming dry,

10. You Use Too Many Styling Products
You only need three products: a protectant, a styling product (like a mousse for volume or an anti-frizz cream for sleekness), and a finishing product (like hair or texture spray). Use cremes and oils sparingly, and only apply to the mid-shaft through ends—a little goes a long way.

At the Salon
11. You Avoid Haircuts
While the six-week rule is definitely not set in stone, most people need a trim about every three months; for others, it’s shorter or longer..

Trying to grow out your hair? As soon as you start to notice split ends or the ends seem “see-through” or brittle, it’s time to take action. “The damage will just continue up the shaft, so by the time you [eventually] go for a cut, you’ll end up having to cut more than you would have if you’d just bitten the bullet with the trim.
12. You Overdo Chemical Treatments
Allow yourself two per year at most (aside from colouring), don’t believe the chemicals are harmless, they aren’t great to breathe in on a regular basis also spend your money on heat protectors, irons, and conditioning treatments instead of relaxing or straightening treatments.

If you must, only do relaxers every six to eight weeks, or ideally, up to 12 weeks.

We hope these tips will be of benefit to you and contact us if you require any further advice.

The love for appeared beauty and rejection for less attractiveness is our nature.
What we want in others is a want for ourselves also?
What is inside another’s personality, we can know after a close relationship.
Beauty or attractive personality is the outer packaging, which glued us towards someone…without knowing that person.
Beauty has a potential capacity in it to pull the crowd, like honeybees are attracted to honey.
So there is nothing wrong in glorifying beauty.
Its wrong to disapprove less beautiful things, animals, humans but beauty has its own benefits.
Not that beautiful people are less intelligent or less sensitive.

TURNING BACK THE HANDS OF TIME

Turning back the hands of time—it’s a quest for many women who simply refuse to age gracefully. And with all that’s available aesthetically (Botox, Fillers, Threads, Treatments) the visible signs of aging can be erased altogether. But what about on the inside? Are there ways we can beat the clock for life when it comes to overall physical and mental health and well being we say yes.
Staying young and beautiful forever used to be science fiction, but fiction is rapidly becoming fact.

FEED YOUR BRAIN

What you put in your mouth can affect your mind. And it’s important to start eating right as early as your teens and twenties to stave off mental stress. According to the NHS, UK adults between the ages of 18–24 suffer the most mental health distress.

Proper nutrition is a key factor in combating conditions associated with mental distress such as avoiding processed foods, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. This will reduce the demand on the adrenal glands, which are responsible for secreting cortisol (the stress hormone) and play a role in managing your metabolism. We recommend taking supplements containing vitamins B, C, and magnesium to support overall adrenal health.

Monitoring your hormone levels throughout your life and taking action to maintain balance or repair imbalances can combat many of the conditions of aging, including insomnia, low libido, memory loss, and unwanted weight gain.

Hormones control everything in the body, acting as the body’s chemical messengers to ensure optimal functioning. For example, low testosterone can reduce your libido, while low levels of progesterone are linked to insomnia and other sleep disturbances. As previously mentioned, too much cortisol can cause foggy thinking and undesirable weight gain. The chronological aging process is unstoppable, but the way you look and feel over the course of a lifetime is heavily linked to hormone balance and lifestyle choices.

KEEP STRESS UNDER CONTROL

Chronic stress initiates an increase in the amount of cortisol-secreted daily, which leads to weight gain, irritability, insomnia, mood disorders, low libido, high blood sugar, and high blood pressure. We suggest stress-lowering techniques such as deep belly breathing , yoga and our Tibetan massage.

Cardiovascular exercise also helps relieve stress because it boosts levels of endorphins, the feel-good hormone. And don’t forget strength training.

BUILD A THICK SKIN

Our body’s largest organ our skin shows the signs of aging more than any other body part.

The most important preventive measure you can take against the sun is to build up your antioxidant levels and maintain adequate levels of vitamins A, C, D and E. We know eating lots of brightly coloured organic fruits and vegetables also boosts levels of these vitamins. These powerful vitamins work liked natural sunscreen for the body, aiding in the prevention of skin aging.

Of course daily sunscreen is also recommended.

DON’T SKIMP ON SLEEP

Within the last year, researchers have uncovered multiple bodies of evidence that sleep (both the quality and quantity of it) is imperative to multiple aspects of your health.

While you sleep, your body enters a sort of ‘repair mode,’ repairing damage from the day and preparing your body to handle whatever comes next.

Not getting enough sleep can also lead to chronic adult-onset illnesses that can shorten lifespan like type 2 Diabetes. “Researchers found that low-quality sleep increases insulin resistance by as much as 82 percent. Another study found that lack of sleep (less than 7.5 hours a night) exacerbates genetic influences linked to weight gain and obesity. Ideally, you should achieve seven to nine hours of sleep each night—and that’s actual time sleeping, not just lying in the bed.”

Even more motivation to move up your bedtime: “Without high quality and quantity of sleep, your metabolism can slow to a crawl.

Try to implement our advice and visit us so we can take care of your outside beauty which is what we do, and we do it very well.

FASHION FOR THE OVER 60S

How to dress at any age can be challenging, but for women over 60 it can be especially fraught. You want to be fashionable, but many of the styles you see advertised are clearly designed more with younger women (of a very specific body type) in mind. The fashion world may be focused on the young, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your fashion goals.

Fashion Tips for Women over 60

To start, there are a few tips and ideas that can help you shape your fashion style at this point in your life.

Know yourself.

You’ve probably tried out different styles over the years so you’re in a strong position to have a pretty good idea of which ones felt the most like you. Your fashion shouldn’t be based on what anyone else wears or likes. Think carefully about what you like to wear and what you think you look best in.

Be willing to take risks (but know your own limits).

Sometimes an item that looks a bit too adventurous in the store can end up becoming one of your favourite things in your closet. If you’re intrigued but unsure about an outfit, go for it. That said; if you know wearing something would make you uncomfortable (say, you hate the feel of heels or don’t really like showing too much leg), don’t try to force something that doesn’t feel right.

Value comfort.

Now that you’re over 60, you’ve earned the right to value comfort over fashion. If you never want to wear heels again, don’t. If tight pants make you squirm uncomfortably all day long, switch to dresses.

Collect examples of clothes you like for inspiration.

One of the best ways to figure out what you like is to collect examples of styles that work for you as you see them. That could mean putting together a scrapbook with clippings from magazines or saving images on Pinterest. When you need inspiration before your next shopping trip, go browse the items you love.

Find a good tailor.

Finding clothes that fit just right in the store is an amazing feeling but, for many women, it’s an extremely rare one. Instead of settling for clothes that just kind of fit, find a good tailor in your town that can make the clothes you love fit your body perfectly.

Don’t worry about trends (but take advantage of the ones you like).

Every year, there will be new style trends. If you like them, great. Go get yourself some clothes in the new style. If you don’t care for them or are unsure, stick with buying things you know you like. Those trendy fashions will go out of style at some point anyway.

Try out new stores, or venture online.

If you’re having a hard time finding clothes that are in your size or that feel right to you at your current age in the stores you’re used to going to, go try somewhere new. Look up stores in your area that you haven’t gone to yet. Do some browsing of stores online. Your clothing options go far beyond the one or two stores you’ve traditionally shopped at the most.

The Fashion Staples to Have In Your Closet

A few elegant, yet basic essentials that you can slip on and feel comfortable in can make a big difference in your wardrobe. You’ll get more out of your closet if you invest in a few key items that can be mixed and matched into different outfits.

Go for a few good pairs of jeans.

Jeans are appropriate for so many occasions and can be matched with many other items. There are a few styles it’s worth considering:

  • Dark denim, midrise boot cut jeans.Ideally, the hem should be about 1/8 inch off the floor and the jeans should have a good fit.
  • Dark denim midrise, straight-leg jeans. You can wear moccasins loafers, flat ballet slippers or kitten heels with these jeans. If you prefer boots in the cooler weather, then you can just tuck them right into tall boots without a problem.
  • A pair of white jeans (yes, white) that are either straight leg or boot cut.You can wear these jeans in warmer weather with a cute pair of wedge sandals and a tunic top. Or a crisp navy jacket with a white tank top pairs well together here. A pair of straight leg jeans goes really great with a longer jacket or a tunic top. Just a tip: Remember to match your underwear to your skin not the white pants!
  • A pair of well-fitted dress pants in a lightweight wool blendCommon colors are black, charcoal, or navy. These pants can be worn with a pretty silky blouse, a t-shirt, or a tank top with a jacket or a cardigan.

Make sure you have a good jacket.

A lot of your summer clothes can be outfitted for other seasons as long as you have the right jacket.

A few good options to consider are:

  • A fitted jacket that’s short and not too snug and is about hip length.Black is a go-to colour, but navy and cream work well too. You can wear this jacket with your jeans, skirts, dresses, pants, and just about everything.
  • A cropped black leather jacket, believe it or not, can be worn with everything in your closet.Cropped at the waist is the best version to buy; it looks both classy and lasts forever.

Skirts are still very sexy.

Skirts are comfortable and can go with a lot of the tops you also pair with your jeans.

One good style of skirt to consider is the black pencil skirt, as it’s very versatile. It can be paired with black tights and a mid-size heel or high heels, wedges, or boots. It can also be paired with a long tank and cropped multi-coloured jacket.

Cardigans are essential for layering and having a polished look.

Like jackets, comfortable cardigans can help you use layers to make lighter clothes appropriate for lower temperatures. Long sleeves or three quarter length that hit at the hips are good. A longer cardigan looks wonderful with straight leg jeans or pants, but not with skirts.

Invest in a few good tank tops.

Consider buying tank tops in bulk because they are the backbone of the closet. You can buy them in whites, black and cream to wear under your jackets, blouses, and sweaters and cardigans. They also project a smoother look under everything.

Dresses never go out of style.

Dresses come in three styles that are particularly popular with women over 60: the wrap dress, the sleeveless sheath and the fit and flare dress. The wrap dress is worn with the belt knotted on the side. Sleeveless sheaths are worn with a snug fitting cardigan or a jacket. The fit and flare dress is fitted on top and flares out at the waist which makes a flirty swinging look. Any of these styles can go with a little black dress, which is perfect for dressing up or down.

HOW TO STAY HEALTHY IN MIND BODY AND SPIRIT

It is said that “Sixty to 90 percent of all doctors’ visits each year are related to anxiety, depression, obsessive anger and hostility, insomnia, high blood pressure, heart attacks — all problems caused by stress,”

The most effective way to halt this destructive chain of events is to meditate, using a relaxation response.” The technique involves repeating a mantra — a word, sound, phrase, or prayer — for as little as 10 minutes a day, this meditation can help prevent age-related changes in the brain.

Try it! Once or twice daily, for 10 to 20 minutes (yes, you do have the time — you just have to make it), sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, relax your muscles, roll your head, neck, and shoulders, and breathe deeply. On each exhale, repeat your mantra. If other thoughts try to invade, tell yourself, “Oh, well,” and return to your word or phrase. When you’re done, keep your eyes closed for an extra minute; slowly allow everyday thoughts to flow back into your mind. Still not into the idea of meditation? Do yoga, or something active and repetitive, like running, instead. Focus on your breathing and how your feet land with each stride.

2. Consume more fat

The healthy kind, that is. Omega-3 fatty acids (found in salmon, walnuts, and seeds) help stabilize your mood, maintain bone strength, and help prevent visible signs of aging by reducing inflammation in the body

Try it! “Virtually every expert agrees that you need two grams of omega-3 fatty acids a day, eat plenty of fatty fish such as wild salmon (a 3-ounce serving has 6.9 grams), as well as walnuts (one-half ounce has 9.2 grams), If you aren’t getting enough omega-3s from your diet, consider taking fish-oil supplements.

3. Get off the couch

Not only does regular exercise help you lose weight, tone muscles, build healthier bones, and boost mood, it can also help you think clearly. Studies cited by the National Institute on Aging demonstrate a connection between physical exercise and better brainpower. Walking for just 10 minutes a day lowers your risk of Alzheimer’s by 40 percent,”

Try it! Make time for three 20-minute workouts a week. Run, bike, swim, dance — do whatever you enjoy most.

4. Feel the love

Anyone who’s ever fallen head over heels or discovered an activity that makes them eager to jump out of bed in the morning knows that passion is a powerful drug. The ability to embrace life boosts self-esteem, fuels the immune system, and improves cardiovascular health. Passion in bed can be particularly beneficial.

Try it! Banish boredom and isolation at all costs. Rekindle the flames with your partner. Or discover a new love in the form of a mental or physical pursuit: Take up painting, join a book club, start a running program (you’ll find motivation and tips and connect with other women like you, do whatever it is that makes you feel energized and alive.

5. Drink red wine

Last fall, a ground breaking study showed that mice on a high-fat diet supplemented with resveratrol, a substance found in the skin of grapes, had longer average lifespans than those not given the resveratrol. Clinical trails proved resveratrol clearly reduced the risk of diabetes and liver problems in mice, leading to a significant decline in obesity-related deaths. But here’s the catch, you’d have to drink 180 bottles of red wine a day to get the same benefits not recommended.

Researchers are working now to improve the potency of resveratrol in order to develop a pill that contains the optimum amount of the substance. In the meantime, there’s plenty of evidence that a little red wine can offset a host of health problems.

6. Do yoga

More energy, better posture, greater flexibility, improved mood, and less stress are just some of the rewards of this mind-body workout. Through conscious yoga breathing, you become aware of the connection between mind and body that translates into major anti-aging advantages. Yogic breathing has been shown to oxygenate the cells, ridding them of toxins, helping prevent illness, and making skin radiant. Unlike other exercises, says Lee, yoga poses are designed to work the inside of your body as well as the outside, which helps rejuvenate the digestive system, the reproductive system, even the immune system.

7. Bite into a Superfruit

Pomegranate juice has been found to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, possibly delay the onset of atherosclerosis, and potentially help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease; researchers believe it may also help prevent some forms of cancer from starting or progressing. Pomegranates can also protect the skin from damage caused by UV rays, according to a latest study.

Another promising anti-ager is the goji berry, a fruit native to Tibet that boasts 500 times more vitamin C by weight than an orange and is considered to be the most abundant source of carotenoids, a type of antioxidant, on earth. This little nutritional powerhouse — which tastes like a denser, sweeter cranberry — also contains more iron than spinach, 18 amino acids, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and vitamins B1, B2, B6 and E. he Goji berry stimulates the release of human growth hormone, a natural substance in the body that improves our ability to sleep, helps us look younger, reduces fat, improves memory, boosts libido, and enhances the immune system, he says.

8. Slather your skin with supplements

Retinol, a type of vitamin A (and a non-prescription, weaker-strength relative of Retinal-A), is considered the most effective over-the-counter treatment to smooth the skin and prevent wrinkles. Retinols cause the skin to gently peel, revealing a silkier, rosier, and more supple layer.

There are also benefits to be had using Alpha lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant that naturally occurs in the body. “Alpha lipoic acid is a wonderful anti-aging mechanism. It has been shown to reduce fine lines, improve skin texture, tighten pores, and give skin a general radiance.

We hope these tips will help you and remember visit us and we can also turn back the clock and help you not just feel younger but look younger.

We look forward to meeting you.

BOOK YOUR TIBETAN MASSAGE NOW, WHY WAIT TO FEEL GREAT?

HERE ARE SOME BENEFITS OF OUR TIBETAN MASSAGE

The classical texts of Tibetan Medicine list a variety of indications and benefits of Tibetan Kunye Massage. Some of these traditional indications are described below.

Kunye lengthens the lifespan!

In Traditional Tibetan Medicine it is purported that regular Kunye Massage promotes general health and long life. The effects of massage are holistic, benefitting all of our bodily systems and promoting homeostasis. By integrating Kunye massage into our routine of self-care, we can relax in the knowledge that we are supporting our health and promoting long-life. What better motivation for taking the time to regularly receive a great massage?

Kunye is great for us older folks
The classical texts specify that Kunye massage is very beneficial for geriatric people. Older people commonly suffer from a variety of complaints for which Kunye is indicated. This is because Kunye is warming and invigorating. It stimulates blood flow, loosens stiff joints, promotes sleep, benefits digestion and facilitates the memory.

Benefits dry skin and “rough body”
Kunye is great for your skin. Massage with oil hydrates and nourishes the skin and muscles. It stimulates the flow of blood and vital fluids .In Tibetan Medicine when we say “rough body”, this can also mean that the body is depleted and could use some nourishment. Kunye invigorates our strength by stimulating the metabolic heat. Our metabolic heat enables us to properly transform food into healthy bodily substances like the blood, oils and fluids that keep our skin healthy and vibrant. Our strong metabolism also transforms and expels waste products so they do not stagnate and impact our health. That is why healthy digestion and strong metabolic heat are essential for healthy skin and a clear complexion.

Indicated for exhaustion of blood & essence
Chronic fatigue and other long-term health challenges over time can tax our bodily resources. This can deplete the strength of our blood, fluids, and vital essence. The deeply restorative effects of Kunye massage mitigate the harmful toll of stress and fatigue. This is why the classic texts of Tibetan Medicine suggest using Kunye to restore from any condition of fatigue, exhaustion and for recovery from chronic disease.

Soothes anxiety & mental exhaustion
Kunye is very effective for calming anxiety, mental and emotional stress. When we are under stress we experience a rapid increase and agitation of our air element loong energy. We feel all the diverse symptoms of stress and anxiety as our mind drives our nerves into sympathetic mode. In Kunye we work with specific points on the body to balance the loong, calm the mind and nervous system. During stressful times it is ideal to get extra rest and nourishment. Of course this is not always convenient or possible during stressful situations. So taking a little time to receive Kunye is an efficient way to restore and balance your energy in a short time.

Helps relieve insomnia
Our sleep patterns are very much related with the air element loong energy. The loong regulates every aspect of our mental and emotional health. When our thoughts are racing and our minds are over-taxed, the loong energy becomes very agitated. We experience many symptoms from overactive loong, including insomnia. Kunye works directly to calm the loong, and switch our mind out of those stress patterns of over thinking and anxiety. So Kunye massage and gentle therapies are helpful for improving our sleep health.

Clears the sense organs
Applying Kunye, especially to the head and face, can help sharpen and clarify our senses. This method is effective for relieving nasal and sinus congestion. It promotes the healthy flow of blood and fluids to our eyes. It can relieve tensions and stagnations that dull our senses and cloud our minds. Kunye can benefit our digestion and harmonize the flow of loong to our upper body, head and sense organs.

Especially indicated for all disorders of loong energy
Balancing our air element loong energy is essential for health and happiness. In Tibetan Medicine we say that the loong is like a sensitive, crying baby who always needs to be comforted with a little extra care. With its warm and nourishing effects, Kunye functions like a blanket and a bottle to calm the agitation of our air element loong energy. By relieving stress and calming internal agitation, we can get back to laughing, playing and sleeping like a baby.

Conclusion

Maintaining the health and balance of our body, energy and mind is a full-time job. Tibetan Medicine teaches us to always pay attention to our diet and lifestyle to avoid developing long-term problems and optimize our health. We should invest in our “self-care”, listen to our bodies, and develop healthy habits to help ourselves out whenever possible. Kunye massage is an effective tool to support our health and promote long life. Nobody enjoys the effects of stress and fatigue. The good news is, with the rejuvenating, restorative effects of Kunye, we can promote our health and balance in an enjoyable and rewarding way.
